The act

Formed in 2009, out of Seattle, WA, The Head leaned on the catalog they built into a live act with national reach.

The Head and the Heart formed in 2009 out of open mic nights at Seattle's Conor Byrne pub in Ballard. The six-piece — Jonathan Russell, Charity Rose Thielen, Chris Zasche, Kenny Hensley, Tyler Williams, and Matt Gervais — built an indie-folk catalog across six studio albums on Sub Pop and Verve. Their sixth album, Aperture, arrived in May 2025.

The venue

The Jefferson Theater sits at 110 East Main Street, a 750-capacity historic 1912 theater operated by Starr Hill Presents under booker Danny Shea.

Jefferson programs eclectically across Americana, indie, country revival, hip-hop, and themed dance nights. The room held 750 for the The Head show, 100% sell-through.
