Ting Pavilion
Charlottesville, VA. Capacity 3,500. Est. 1988.
§01 / About the venue
A 3,500-cap venue
operated by Starr Hill Presents since 2009.
Ting Pavilion sits on the east end of the Downtown Mall under a tension-fabric roof, 3,500 capacity, summer only. The room runs May through September; everything outside that window is dark or routes through the Jefferson. Originally the Charlottesville Pavilion when it opened in 1988, it was renamed in 2020 under the Ting telecom partnership. The pit holds 1,200 standing; the lawn pulls another 2,300 reserved.
Production is the largest in the Starr Hill portfolio. House-PA d&b GSL, full lighting rig hung at the truss line, backline house for the resident artists and supplied for nationals. Load-in is at Water Street, dock-height, two trucks parallel. Settlement runs same night. Ting books the biggest touring acts that come to Charlottesville. The talent that outgrew the Jefferson lands here. The talent that outgrew Ting routes to Richmond or DC.
